Monopoly is a game of skill and strategy. Some of the innovative moves on the Monopoly boardroom would be of much interest to corporate world. Acquisitions, rentals, buying, selling are the key activities on this game.

Here are some ways to ensure success in Monopoly. The monopoly strategies given below are for those who like to win the game (and who does not!).

Understanding The Game

The first step to winning at Monopoly is to understand the rules and know how to use them to your advantage. Your aim should be to make every other player bankrupt. Many players make the mistake of trying to buy the most property. This could only make you bankrupt. The aim of Monopoly is to outlast all other players. Be selective in the property you buy.

Setting Down On Property

If your dice leads you to a property too early in the game, it could be cause for concern. This is because rents are low early on in the game. Besides, you are racing against other players who want to grab as much property as they can. However, you could make this to your advantage by selecting property carefully.

Paying Rent

If you land on property owned by someone else, you are not obliged to inform the owner. Just wait until the next player rolls the dice, and you might escape unnoticed. Remember, the rule goes both ways. If someone lands on your property without you noticing it, it’s your loss.

Corner Monopoly

If you can manage to corner a Monopoly, that is own a set of same colored property, you can get double the rent from players who land on your property. Not only can you charge from players, you also partially destroy another player’s chance of getting a Monopoly.

Buying Property

Buy property on which other players might land often. Do not buy Park Place and Boardwalk unless you have spare cash. Players do not land on this property often. The Orange set is your best bet, since players land more often on these properties.

Mutual Deals

Make a deal with another player so that you both can share the good deals and make the partnership beneficial.

Monopoly is a game that requires you to think long term and make strategies that will allow you to outlast all your opponents. Make deals in partnership with other players. You also need to negotiate and convince other players to sell property to you they may not be willing to. Enjoy this game of luck, strategy and skill.
